Henry Hummert, Ph.D.
Henry Hummert is a leadership consultant who helps leaders and teams work better together. As a Senior Affiliate with CMA Global, he focuses on assessment, coaching, team building, conflict management, and supporting family-owned businesses through complex interpersonal dynamics. His work helps clients turn tension into trust and move from frustration to collaboration.
Henry partners with clients in industries such as construction, healthcare, and food service. Known for his calm and thoughtful approach, he blends empathy with candor to create meaningful progress. He helps leaders strengthen emotional intelligence, communicate effectively, and manage the shift from doing the work to developing others. A licensed psychologist, Henry holds a PhD in Clinical Psychology from Saint Louis University. His earlier career as Director of Psychology at Lutheran Medical Center gave him extensive experience leading cross-functional teams, providing professional development, and supporting organizational growth. He also co-hosted a psychology-focused radio show, where he offered insights to help listeners apply psychological concepts in everyday life.
Henry believes that effective coaching begins with trust. He builds relationships grounded in respect and collaboration, helping clients stretch beyond their comfort zones while recognizing their own strengths and accomplishments.
Outside of consulting, Henry enjoys creative writing and volunteering as a lifelong mentor through the Big Brothers/Big Sisters program. He helps children have fun and stay safe by volunteering as a youth swim instructor, drawing upon his early experiences as a lifeguard and Water Safety Instructor.
