The St. Louis Business Journal  recently published a transcript of their most recent panel of experts speaking about Selling your Business(10/31-11/6/14, Vol 35, Number 10).  When the moderator asked about the role of outside experts who assist with the evaluation of the internal team when selling a business, Kevin Short, CEO of Clayton Capital Partners and author of just-published Sell Your Business for an Outrageous Price, offered this advice:

We aren’t really qualified to give them (i.e., the business owner) much advise about their internal management team.  We can give them our impressions based on our experience.  We’re big on bringing in people like CMA, and having professional assessments performed of the management team, particularly when there are family members on the team (Insert, p. 4).[/note]

The CMA assessment processes can contribute greatly to preparing a company for sale. CMA’s process can help build a comprehensive understanding of the talent and cultural of a potential acquisition or merger.  Please see our website for a description of CMA success stories in developing individuals and teams, and in being a part of the due diligence process in merger and acquisition work.
