Kick-off for Women’s History Month Celebration

In March, we celebrate Women’s History Month. First passed by the 1982 Congress as “Women’s History Week,” the celebration has been observed in its month-long format since 1987. The month is designed to highlight the contributions and achievements of women over the course of American history and into today (

In addition, March also hosts International Women’s Day (IWD) on the 8th. Celebrated as early as 1909 in New York City, this global celebration serves to bring attention to the women’s rights movement in its many forms. This year’s theme for IWD is #BreakTheBias – and it challenges us to imagine a gender equal world (

As psychologists, the term bias is familiar jargon. And while women have made significant strides in the workplace, there is no denying that gender bias still persists. Throughout the month of March, CMA will provide content and resources that are designed to help reduce gender bias, in an effort to create forward momentum toward a more equitable and inclusive working environment across the gender spectrum. In others words, a gender equal workplace.

Our aim as a firm is to help provide an equitable experience for all workers, regardless of industry, sector, or individual difference. During the month of March, we are executing this mission by focusing our efforts on the experience of women workers and providing resources to actively combat gender bias. By identifying and eliminating gender bias and by removing barriers for women, we can create a healthier workplace where each employee has maximal opportunity for success.

Because when the women in the workplace thrive, your business thrives.
