Jennifer Marecek, Controller

As Controller at CMA Global, Jennifer Marecek oversees the financial accounting and operations that keep the firm running steadily behind the scenes. She spent ten years in public accounting as an auditor, including work helping the FDIC manage bank closures during the Great Recession, experience that taught her how much a strong financial foundation matters when everything else feels uncertain.

That foundation carries into her work today. Jennifer holds an MBA from Webster University and a BS in Accounting from Maryville University, and she’s a licensed CPA and member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She also teaches as an adjunct professor at Maryville, a role that keeps her close to the people just starting out in the field she’s spent her career in.

What she enjoys most is finding the inefficiencies other people walk past. She likes digging into a process that isn’t quite working, figuring out why, and building something better, not just for the sake of the paperwork, but for the people who rely on it every day.

Outside of work, Jennifer spends her time in the garden, tending to vegetables and herbs, or curled up with a book. Florence, Italy tops her list of dream destinations.
